One of the biggest impacts on our lives happened in 2009 when Oakport Township flooded. We lost our home to the flood, which changed how we defined “home” forever.
Evacuating with our young son and deciding what to bring or leave behind was incredibly difficult. We wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else. Watching helplessly as our home and neighbors’ homes were destroyed was heartbreaking. The effects of that time stay with us even now.
We’ve grown and evolved The Authority Companies because we believe everyone deserves to live in a home they love.
Because everyone’s definition of home is different, we’ve never tried to replicate one style across homes. We take the time to know the homeowners we work with and explore what they need and want. Then, we implement the necessary solutions to bring their vision to life.
Losing our home to a natural disaster was an extreme example of not having a place to call home. Even so, we work to ensure everyone has the chance to live in a house that feels like home. It’s about creating a space where they can gather with the people they love.
