Hi, I’m Alyssa!

I’m a small-town, country girl, grateful to be a stay-at-home mom and farmwife. I am compassionate, creative, curious, and sometimes courageous.

In my life, I desire to share the joy and love of Christ, encourage and lift up those around me, and regularly immerse myself in and appreciate creation. Growing and sharing cut-flowers and inviting you all out to the farm allows me to do just that.

This adventure also provides a way for me to connect with the community, foster fellowship opportunities, share joy, and encourage personal growth while still being home with and nurturing my favorite little blossoms.

Thanks for being here. I appreciate your support as I pursue the desires of my heart!

About the Farm

Why “Blyss”…
The farm name, Blyss, is a combination of “bliss” (perfect happiness; great joy) and my nickname “Lyss.” I grow a variety of beautiful blooms April through September using flowers to spread JOY and offer encouragement.

How it started…
Blyss Flower Farm is in its fifth growing season. I “dug in” in the fall of 2020 planting a few hundred tulip bulbs under a makeshift low tunnel. The following spring, I started over a thousand seedlings in my basement and grew cut flowers in what was my vegetable garden. We also used a planter to plant zinnias in part of a field (reduced to a small zinnia patch)! I harvested blossoms into recycled containers and crafted bouquets on the ping pong table in our basement.

How it’s going…
Having learned a lot about growing and selling in my first few years (always learning!), I’ve made several changes to improve efficiency around seed starting, watering, and weed control to support an abundance of healthy, beautiful blossoms. We also expanded our growing area and began offering on-farm events. Our Flower Fest event has attracted over 500 people! 2025 marks the first year I will have my own designated workshop and large walk-in cooler.

Who we serve…
Our farm serves the local rural communities primarily through on-farm events and occasionally market bouquets and bouquet drops, as time allows. We also service area and regional florists with fresh, local flowers!

Visiting the farm…
In the fall of 2021, we prepped several long beds in a grassy area in our yard for new growing space. In 2022, we had an abundance of blossoms offering public and private you-pick events in that space. People can come be immersed in the flower fields and the beauty of creation while cutting and crafting their own bouquets and connecting with others.

Stay tuned, and thanks for joining us for our Summer Events like Flower Fest 2025!

Save the date for our fourth annual Flower Fest event: Tuesday, August 12, from 4–8pm!
