Holy Week: Friday – Jesus’ Trial and Death

Jesus,

You suffered a terrible death so that we would be able to experience eternal life in You. You came to earth to save, and You experienced intense persecution and suffering on our behalf. Help me to reflect on Your sacrifice and the reality that without You, I would be dead in my sins. Because of Your love, obedience, and example, my life will never be the same. Amen.

“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit.’ When He had said this, He breathed His last.”
