Love & Dignity. Our Mission.

Amistad Worldwide is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.  Our main goal is to demonstrate the love of Christ and develop the potential and dignity of the world’s poorest people who live on $1 a day or less.  We aim to accomplish this by partnering with those working in the Third World to bring the Gospel and sustainable solutions to poverty such as sponsorship and empowerment of orphans, widows, providing education and jobs, and placing clean water wells in impoverished villages. We currently work in three countries, India, Nepal, and Uganda.

Hi! I’m T.A.

I founded Amistad Worldwide in 2010 after completing a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University. I was born and raised in Fargo, ND, and then completed a Social Work degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead, MN.  During my college years, I was introduced to missions and the hardship of life for so many in the world as they struggle to even meet their basic needs. Every speaker or story I read broke my heart and touched me deeply. I worked at the Salvation Army as a social worker and also pursued opportunities to serve overseas on short-term missions trips. These experiences included Bulgaria, Africa, Ecuador, and Mexico. I also worked on White Earth Indian Reservation and with Hispanic youth in Moorhead, MN.  Each of these experiences have served to deepen the call on my life to serve the poor.

Starting Amistad Worldwide has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is so rewarding to see what even a small amount of resources can do to change someone’s life in a very impactful way.  Our current projects are in South India, Nepal, and Uganda. I have the privilege of traveling to India every year and work alongside Evangelist RK. My life verse is James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress….”
